Although it seems as if real first -year Quarterback Bryce Underwood will start in 2025 for Michigan’s football, it is not exactly clear. And that is because the Wolverines brought in the former Fresno State Signal Mikey Keene to compete with him. And Keene, who could have started very well at the start of the season, was injured the entire spring and gave Underwood the keys to the Cadillac for all 15 practices.
So, since CBS Sports works to determine who the best Back -Up Quarterbacks in the country is on something of an intersection.
Michigan Football did make the list, but CBS Sports’ Will Backus was ambivalent, who mentioned both Underwood and Keene as one of the potential best QBs in the country, given that we do not know who starts at the start of the season.
It is more a matter of when, and not or, Underwood will stand up as Michigan’s starter. He is just too talented to keep in the pen for a long time. Keene may at least get the chance to secure his place through the first few games. Regardless of who goes outside first, Michigan is in a great place with his second option.
Underwood was the best prospect in the 2025 class. He has a College-ready frame, a live arm and the talent to increase a stagnant Wolverines attack. In the meantime, Keene brings 34 games from starting Stops experience at UCF and Fresno State. He has more than 8,000 meters past and 65 touchdowns in his career.
Although Keene is by far the most experience, Underwood on the Roster is the most talented. So it is our opinion, given that he will have nearly 40 practices under his belt by week 1, the first -year student will get the nod and the older statesman will wait in the wings in case.
But Keene is not the only one. After all, Michigan brought in the former Miami, Missouri and East Carolina Quarterback Jake Garcia last week to strengthen the schedule – also in case.
Here is the current Quarterback schedule:
- Graduated Jake Garcia (via East Carolina)
- Graduated Mikey Keene (via Fresno State)
- Senior Davis Warren (Restoring Torn ACL in Reliaquest Bowl)
- Redshirt First -year student Jadyn Davis
- Real first -year Bryce Underwood
- Real First -year Chase Herbstreit
