Pakistan condemns Trump’s bombing of Iran

Islamabad (Reuters) -Pakistan condemned the strikes ordered by Donald Trump on her neighbor Iran on Sunday, one day after Islamabad said that it would nominate the US president for the Nobel Prize for Peace.

Pakistan said on Sunday that Trump’s decision to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities, violated international law and that diplomacy was the only way to resolve the crisis in Iran.

“The unprecedented escalation of tension and violence, due to constant aggression against Iran is deeply disturbing. Every further escalation of tensions will have seriously harmful implications for the region and then,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

Also on Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and “passed the conviction of Pakistan about the American attacks,” said a statement from the Pakistani leader.

The Pakistan -Minister of Information and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to requests for comments on the apparent contradiction in the functions of the country at the weekend.

In the largest city of Pakistan, Karachi, thousands marched in protest against the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

A large American flag with a photo of Trump on it was placed on the road for protesters to walk over. The protesters shouted songs against America, Israel and the regional enemy of Pakistan India.

Pakistan said on Saturday that the Trump nominated as “a real peacemaker” for his role in bringing a four -day conflict with India last month. It said that he had “demonstrated a great strategic foresight and stellair statesmanship”.
