The Brooklyn Nets go to the NBA design of 2025 with the eighth general choice and with that choice they could take a player who could have a significant impact. Brooklyn has worked out prospects in the hope of concentrating on players they would like to have, but there is one player they can take to maximize their choice.
“Johnson’s Knack for Emmer-Gesketing makes him worthwhile to be worth a swing in the top 10,” wrote Jeremy Woo about Texas Guard Tre Johnson for ESPN during his writing about a fake design together with teammate Jonathan Givony. What makes this interesting to see from the duo is that by most Johnson seems to be considered a top 5 pick in the design, but it is possible that Woo and Givony and work from their own Intel.
“Although I have some reservations about his playing style, if a team can get Johnson to buy and share the ball, his shooting skills could pay for real dividends,” Woo continued. “The nets have enough shots to go around next season that this situation is logical, and this is where I focus on Johnson, after the other best scoring wing perspectives of the board are.”
Johnson, 19, comes from a season 2024-25 in which he had an average of 19.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per match while he shoots 42.7% and 39.7% behind the three-point line. Johnson may not get the eighth general pick, only on the basis of the fact that he seems to be only behind Duke Forward Cooper Flagg, Rutgers guard Dylan Harper and Baylor Guard vj Edgecombe.
Based on recent reports, it seems that Rutger Vooruit Ace Bailey could experience a slide in the design, so that the door for players like Johnson could become the fourth or even fifth general choice. Anyway, if Johnson were to slide to No. 8 when the design started on Wednesday, Brooklyn would probably be difficult to let a player pass on with the score/shooting skills of Johnson.
