Valentin Carboni hit the winning goal in the stopping time when Inter Milan came from behind on Saturday to beat Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1 and to beat the Japanese team from the World Cup.
Ryoma Watanabe received an early opening goal for Urawa Reds, which were supported by a noisy contingent from their supporters in Lumen Field in Seattle.

But Captain Lautaro Martinez received Inter’s Equalizer in their 1-1 draw with Monterrey from Mexico in their first game at the tournament, and he repeated the trick to go here with 12 minutes.
Carboni, the 20-year-old Argentinian who had no longer appeared before Inter in more than two years, then appeared in the 92nd minute to give the Italians the victory.
The result lets the Cristian Chivu team in a good position to qualify for the last 16, while a second defeat in so many competitions means that Urawa Reds are eliminated.
Winners of the Asian Champions League in 2023, Urawa Reds wanted to jump back from a 3-1 loss against River Plate in their opening match and they went in front in the 11th minute.

Takuro Kaneko made the goal with a good run the right before his low cross was swept home for the first time by Watanabe.
Shortly thereafter, Martinez struck a header for Inter, and it seemed that the UEFA Champions League two could slip into a shock destruction when Henrikh Mkhitaryan missed the target of a good position in the second half.
But they received the level in the 78th minute when a Nicolo Barella corner was skillfully returned from the left by Martinez, who scored with an overhead kick while he fell back.
The stage was then set for Carboni, who had not played a competitive game since the beginning of October after having sustained a serious knee injury while he was on loan in Marseille.
He was by the hand to give the net in the net after a Petar sucic shot teammate Francesco Esposito hit and Ball broke with Carboni in the area.
