by All attention on the Pittsburgh Steelers this season was about the addition of Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But for the Steelers there is a different position that might be more important than quarterback for the success of this team in 2025.
That would be offensive. Last season the tandem of Dan Moore Jr. On the left and Broderick Jones on the right. And to be honest, Jones was worse than Moore. Nevertheless, Moore is now in line to start at the left tackle for the Tennessee Titans and Jones has shifted to the left tackle so that Troy Fautanu can start on the right.
Pro Football Focus mentioned one make-or-break player for each NFL team and to no one’s surprise was Jones de Steeler who made the list.
The Steelers urgently need production and continuity with attacking tackle, especially with Aaron Rodgers set up as their starting quarterback. Former first round Pick Broderick Jones spent the vast majority of his first two seasons at the correct tackle and struggled to a general figure of 58.5 pff.
Jones not only plays for his work, he has the pressure of Fautanu who also performs in his old place. Fautanu missed all his Rookie season with a knee injury and his return is what this has all requested. But after having allowed 11 bags in 2024, if Jones cannot perform, there is literally no one else. Rodgers is not as mobile as he ever was and Jones will protect his blindside.
